Making DoomGuy shutup in Project Brutality

If you love Project Brutality, but could do without the voice-overs, check this out.

I think Project Brutality 3 is an awesome mod for Doom; it adds all sorts of awesome features, weapons, and pumps up the gore big time. The thing that I don't really care for, however, is the over-the-top lines DoomGuy now randomly utters when picking up items and killing enemies. No offense to the creators of PB, because I think it is great, but the voice just doesn't fit my mental image of DoomGuy, and besides, I prefer him to be the silent protagonist he is in the original game. I thought that the issue could be addressed by using a menu option to turn off the chatter, and though this does help, there are still times, such as when picking up a chainsaw when DoomGuy still pipes up, "AH CHAINSAW! THE GREAT COMMUNICATOR!".

This wad addresses the issue, replacing some of the sounds with sounds from the original game, and removing many of the others, and is intended to work with Project Brutality 3.0. Just make sure to load this wad AFTER Project Brutality. Enjoy!

Other Guy April 3, 2020, 8:34 a.m. Actually agree a lot, but the Chainsaw sorta crap's actually a big part of what I wanted to get rid of.  Don't really like Doomguy sounding like the lead singer of Lordi, it's super distracting
